Splendors of the Baroque at the Jacquemart-André Museum: A Journey to the Spanish Golden Age
From March 26 to August 2, 2026, the Jacquemart-André Museum in Paris hosts Splendors of the Baroque, an exceptional exhibition dedicated to Hispanic Baroque art. For the first time in France, some forty major works from the Hispanic Society of America in New York are brought together in the elegant salons of this prestigious Parisian museum.
The exhibition highlights the richness of the Spanish Golden Age (16th-17th centuries), a period of intense artistic creativity led by masters such as Diego Velázquez, El Greco, and Francisco de Zurbarán, as well as Latin American artists influenced by this tradition. Between striking portraits and emotionally charged religious scenes, the exhibition reveals the expressive intensity and profound spirituality of the Spanish Baroque, as well as its influence beyond Europe. Presented in the museum's refined setting, Splendors of the Baroque offers a rare opportunity to rediscover these masterpieces outside the permanent collections.
